I have been around the world and lived and traveled in many cultures. Yet everywhere I went, I heard similar interpretations of Christianity and its origins. Most everyone based their views primarily on the Old and New Testaments. Garrett Glass' novel finally gives us a picture of early Christianity which is based, not only on the Bible, but also on a great deal of historical scholarly research. It is, on the one hand, very well written and documented, and it is, on the other hand, written as fiction, which enables the reader to identify with the characters and events. The author sheds light on the age-old questions about the circumstances of the crucifixion, and reveals how the anti-semitism that developed was based on false interpretations of events. This novel helped me understand why it took so long for the Roman Catholic Church to disavow the attribution of guilt to the Jews. It is a great work which should be read by people of all faiths.
